Do you want to work for a company that appreciates your individuality and what makes you great? A company that will allow you to take your career in many different directions? Or would you be interested in the relaxed dress code, free lollies and working for an employer that is concerned with your work/life balance?
At ThoughtWorks we embrace diversity and doing things differently. What brings us all together is the fact that we're passionate about what we do, enjoy giving back to the community, and get a kick out of being the best that we can be.
ThoughtWorks started in the US over 13 years ago, and has been here in Australia since 1999 with offices in Melbourne and Sydney. Today, we're a global company with over 800 people throughout the US, Canada, UK, Australia, China and India and we're continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
ThoughtWorks was started with the vision of creating a home for the smart, the collaborative, and the socially progressive. We relish the chance to engage our strengths to accomplish our goals, whether that be coming up with creative and innovative solutions to our clients problems or encouraging organisational improvements. We believe in working with the latest technologies and we're experts in Agile, a methodology that's revolutionising software development.
We're going to fly our successful applicants to our office in Bangalore for a six week program to give you all the skills you need. You'll learn all about ThoughtWorks and we'll train you as a Developer or Quality Analyst whilst you're there. After that it's back to Australia and onto a project to put what you've learned into action.
Quality Analysts
As a QA you'll be responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance in the software we deliver to our clients. You'll get to work alongside truly talented teams and help them enhance their performance by bringing quality assurance to the forefront of clients' minds. As well as ensuring the bug-free delivery of bespoke built software, you will also be working with clients to advise them on improving their test processes and teaching them about the very latest from the QA world.
Developers
Whilst you might feel you know what a software developer does, the role at ThoughtWorks is quite different to other organisations. Thanks to the use of Agile methodologies and the fact that we work as consultants, your role will involve a lot of interaction with clients as well as team members, consisting of Business Analysts, Quality Analysts and Project Managers. You'll be heavily involved in understanding our client's requirements, and be responsible for coming up with creative and innovative solutions to complex problems. A lot of our work involves holding workshops to elicit requirements so you won't always be stuck behind a desk.
We're seeking bright, creative and open-minded individuals who are looking for a varied and challenging career, and you don't have to be an expert in software development just yet.
For our Developer roles we are looking for at least a Bachelors Degree with a scientific/numerate/IT related degree subject with a programming/developing component. For our Quality Analyst roles we are happy to look at people from a broader range of disciplines but your degree should have given you a passion for problem solving.
Both positions require a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability and desire to work in a dynamic and interactive team-working environment.
Please send your resume to work@[thoughtworks.com] or via our online application and we'll get back to you with an application form.
ThoughtWorks is a global IT consultancy. We deliver bespoke applications, no-nonsense consulting and help organisations become agile.
