ThoughtWorks now offers eLearning in partnership with InfoQ Virtual Training. ThoughtWorks trainers are all active practitioners and bring a wealth of consulting and delivery experience to their material. This concept provides IT professionals with regular opportunities to learn from their desktop about innovative concepts and techniques that drive change in enterprise software development, at a low cost.

Users participate in live webinars during which they can ask questions and explore ideas in depth. Session participants are able to exchange their ideas and experiences with the original presenters on a discussion board for a limited time as the participants apply these tools in the field.

GET connected - a tutorial on Web-based services - May 28th 2009, 1pm EDT

Presented by Dr Jim Webber. The Web is alive with furious debate on the future of integration. The Web and in particular the REST architectural style are fast becoming serious competition to traditional enterprise architecture and integration approaches. This course's participants will gain an understanding of the REST architectural style, be introduced to various toolkits that support practical delivery of Web- based services, and will understand how weaving the Web into enterprise systems makes them truly Internet-scale.

Project Vital Signs - June 8th 2009, 1pm EDT

Presented by Stelios Pantazopoulos. To foster credibility and trust between a team and its stakeholders a project has to be able to clearly express the state of its delivery. This course's participants will learn about the different vital signs that can be used to bring near-real time visibility into their project's health, allowing the team to make informed decisions on corrective action.

Shortening the Last Mile - June 11th 2009, 1pm EDT

Presented by Troy Gould. Often the most painful, time-consuming and expensive part of building software is the integration and release process. This course will provide participants with the information to able to implement continuous integration properly, and understand what other practices they have to put in place to ensure it works. Attendees will have an understanding of the build, test, deploy and release process and how to automate it as well as understanding deployment and release best practices, including build pipelining and configuration management patterns and principles.
