ThoughtWorks' CEO Roy Singham to present keynote on The Impact of Agile Software Development at Agile 2009, Brazil

ThoughtWorks to share industry leading perspective on how Agile ALM is impacting IT and the bright future Agile has for South America technology outsourcing

Chicago, 06 October 2009 - ThoughtWorks, the global leader in large-enterprise Agile, today announced that Roy Singham, its chairman and founder, will present a keynote address at the Ágiles 2009 conference in Florianopolis, Brazil. Singham's presentation, "ThoughtWorks: A Social Experiment and a Movement to Revolutionise IT," will outline how Agile software development methods are forever changing the way organisations plan, develop and release software as a core strategic business initiative.

"As Agile methods continue to mature and drive business value, the impact on organisational operations and strategy is incredibly powerful and reaches far beyond just developing better software code," said Singham. "I look forward to sharing how ThoughtWorks' culture and approach to Agile is helping customers around the globe improve overall IT effectiveness, while outlining the strong growth and potential we see in emerging markets, like South America."

Ágiles 2009, 2nd South American Conference on Agile Development Methodologies, aims to connect IT professionals throughout the region to share experiences, discuss case studies and learn best practices in Agile software. Ágiles 2009 is a non-profit event organized by volunteers that have a deep passion for Agile and are committed to create open forums of discussion around the adoption of Agile in Latin America.

As a global leader in helping large-enterprise customers adopt and leverage Agile development to transform IT and business operations, ThoughtWorks continues to support the Agile community through speaking engagements, free Webinars and the sponsorship of events like Ágiles 2009 and the recent Agile 2009 conference in Chicago. It also developed some of the earliest open source Agile tools (Selenium and Cruise Control) that were integral in helping Agile become the mainstream practice it is today. In addition, its fast-growing products division, ThoughtWorks Studios, continues to re-define the way tools help organisations succeed with Agile through its Adaptive ALM™ solution that is comprised of industry leading products Mingle® (project management) Twist® (test automation) and Cruise® (release management).

"ThoughtWorks is proud to be a platinum sponsor of Ágiles 2009 and to have Roy share his vision and insight at the conclusion of the first day of this vibrant conference," said Craig Gorsline, managing director of ThoughtWorks. "South America is a diverse segment of the global community and ThoughtWorks looks forward to building its customer base, operational footprint and partner ecosystem throughout Central and South America during the coming years."
