Crain's Names ThoughtWorks #12 of Chicago's 20 Best Places to Work

03 Mar 2008 - Global IT consultancy ThoughtWorks today announced that it has been recognized as number 12 of the top 20 Best Places to Work by Crain's Chicago Business. Winners were evaluated across a wide range of criteria including fundamental issues like hiring practices and benefits, as well as the results of a survey sent to Chicago-based employees.

"We are especially proud of this recognition because our culture is our competitive advantage in attracting the best people," said Greg Layok, North America Managing Director. "We are committed to being the world's premier destination for knowledge workers in Chicago and across the world. I am proud to be a part of an organisation alongside so many talented professionals who are passionate about our commitment to revolutionise the IT Industry."

According to ThoughtWorks, some of the organisation's primary strengths in making it a great place to work include a relatively flat organisation structure, significant investment in employee development and, most importantly, a core set of social values that are shared across the company and that are relevant to its business success.

"I created ThoughtWorks with the objective of being a 100-year company, and realized that a great culture was the key to achieving that," said chairman and founder, Roy Singham. "As we have grown into a global firm with more than 900 employees, one of our biggest challenges is to maintain that culture, and this award is welcome proof of our success."
